Employee Compensation Information

The Office of Compensation & Classification Office within the Department of Human Resources administers salary scales, initial employee pay records, job descriptions, and classification reviews.  The Office is also charged with compensation analysis to assist in the establishment of equitable and competitive pay levels.

 

Specific payroll related questions (i.e. pay schedules, tax and withholding information, etc) can be found on the Payroll webpage.


To calculate your approximate total compensation package to include benefits, enter your annual salary and add another 35% (e.g. $50,000 x 1.35= $67,500) of annual salary.

Final salary determination must be approved by the Department of Human Resources.

Footnote: Work schedule dates are based on the School Board approved calendar, which may be amended from time to time. Pay dates for the various contract lengths will not change. 


Calculating Annual Salary for less than 250 days or less than 7.5 hours per day

Full or part-time non-instructional positions and teaching assistant positions. This salary scale is based on 250 days, or 1875 hours of work.

To determine the annual salary if you work less than 250 days, do the following:

*If you work 7.5 hours per day:

Divide the annual salary shown in the table by 250; this will be your daily rate of pay; then multiply your daily rate by the number of days you work and that will be your annual salary.

*If you work less than 7.5 hours per day:
Divide the annual salary shown in the table by 1875; this will be your hourly rate of pay. Multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours per day you work; this will be your daily rate of pay. Multiply your daily rate of pay by the number of days you work and that will be your annual salary.

Example: A teacher assistant (Grade 4, Step 1) working 188 days, 6.5 hours per day
Annual Salary for 250 days: $27,223
Hourly Rate: $27,223/1875 = $14.52
Daily Rate: $14.52 x 6.5 = $94.37

Annual Salary: $94.37(per day)x 188 days = $17,742
