Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) For Students Involved in  OSMAP/School Board Proceedings


General Education & Special Education Students


2020欧洲杯积分Some general education students who have been placed out of school pending final outcome of disciplinary proceedings through OSMAP and/or the School Board are eligible to receive non-traditional education services through the Computer-Based Instruction Program. Students with egregious offenses may not be offered the opportunity to participate in this program.

Special education students who have been placed out of school pending final outcome of disciplinary proceedings through OSMAP and/or the School Board are also eligible to receive non-traditional education services through the Computer-Based Instruction Program as identified by the IEP Team. If the final outcome results in long-term suspension or expulsion, educational services shall continue through the Computer-Based Instruction Program.

Program Components


Student Goals

2020欧洲杯积分 To allow the student to continue to receive educational services in content areas. The IEP Team will identify the goals for those special education students.

To allow the student to maintain and/or improve academic performance.

2020欧洲杯积分 To enable students to effectively transition into the traditional classroom setting once the discipline period has concluded.

Parental Involvement

2020欧洲杯积分 Parents shall work with staff to discuss expectations and the parents' role in working with the staff to ensure student success.

For special education students, parents shall be involved in the IEP Team placement meeting and understand the goals established for the student.

Instruction

Instruction shall be provided through digital on-line instruction.      

Highly-qualified staff, as identified above, shall serve as resource teachers and facilitators and shall also provide direct instruction.

Behavioral Expectations/Discipline

Each student shall receive, understand, and sign a strict code of behavior contract agreeing to follow the conditions as set forth in Prince William County Public Schools "Code of Behavior," in the OSMAP/School Board decision letter, and by the night school administration.

If the conditions are not fulfilled, the student may be subject to further disciplinary action and a change in placement.

Program Evaluation

2020欧洲杯积分 The Office of Assessment shall conduct a formal program evaluation for various aspects of the Computer-Based Instruction Program including, but not limited to, the following: student achievement; behavioral progress; successful completion of the program; and successful transition to the base school.

Support Services

Students will receive academic and behavioral support designed to assist the student in transitioning to and from the CBI program.
